How to motivate employees motivated

The situation outside is not conducive to efficiency and quality of work. "15 rubles ago, I poured the tea, and it is still hot" - giggling colleagues. Black humor, of course, saves, but in fact people are demoralized and confused. Few people can concentrate on work. But it is now necessary to think about what can help people save willing and able to give us the desired result.
During the years of prosperity and continuous growth of the company we are accustomed to think of the one and only way to motivate employees - to raise the salary and pay bonuses. In the near future the old grandfather's method seems completely unusable - salary increase by 5, 10 or even 20% could not compensate for the drop in the real income of employees. Virtually any increase will be perceived more as a mockery of today - the decline in real income in any case be impossible to block.
It is necessary to face the truth. The idea that an increase in wages to motivate employees, and earlier was largely an illusion. Once this method certainly worked, but the level of involvement and the efficiency of the staff was quite low, when compared with the global trends. Employees of the companies operating in Russia, much less than American workers and companies from the BRIC countries, felt that "the organization motivates them to do work beyond the scope of duties." The difference in this index between the Russian and US companies was 46%! A difference in performance was even higher.
The lower the employee in the organizational hierarchy, the less his desire to put an extra effort. Similarly, reduced and confidence in the company and confidence in the effectiveness of management. In other words, the leaders of Russian companies practically do not know how to motivate employees. In the middle of the Russian company from 70 to 100% of the managers create demotivating environment for employees.
Today, the company's results in the first place will depend on how the staff were extra effort and work really effectively and efficiently, in fact this will inevitably require tough economic situation. And the level of employee engagement is dependent primarily on the leadership talent and cunning leader in matters of motivation.
Here are some simple tips that can help motivate people.
Try to calm them down. Ask what they are most concerned about. Even if you can not answer most of the questions people will be important that you take the time to listen to them and share their knowledge. This will significantly increase your credibility. Help them understand that now worried about all this is natural, but it is unlikely to help the cause.
Tell us about what it means crisis for your company. Be as specific as possible. Does the company have a plan to overcome the crisis? When and how will it be developed? Tell that to you as a manager is particularly important. What do you want your employees to focus on.
Try to find the positive side of what is happening. Perhaps the company will look for new ways to attract customers and how to work with them. This is an opportunity for employees to express themselves and change what needed to change for a long time.
Help people in their personal development. In times of crisis it is good to think about what is really important. Do I want to do this now? Perhaps just now the right time to take up new solutions.
